Dr Jean-Marc Retrouvey, D.M.D, M.Sc
President: International Foundation for Dental Education
Dr Jean-Marc Retrouvey is the Director of Orthodontics at McGill University, one of the top ten dental faculties in North America.
He is an examiner at the Royal College of dentists of Canada (RCDC), assists in question writing at the National Dental Board of Canada ( NDEB) and is the Quebec representative at the Canadian Association of Orthodontists. He will become President of the Canadian Association of Orthodontists in 2015. Just in time for the WFO conference in London .
In 2011, Dr Retrouvey became a fellow in the American College of Dentists
Dr Retrouvey has developed an expertise in e-learning and is portrayed in the Adobe website. Another interest is the proper training of general dentists in the field of Orthodontics.
Our first project was the development of an interactive CD to teach Orthodontic Diagnosis. The the Virtual Orthodontic Case Study was created quickly followed by a dental site based on a wiki to help all dental students learn and master specific dental techniques:
wikisites- Dentalpedia ( Feel free to visit and ask for editing rights and make this site as good as possible). This site and demands from dentists in developing countries led to the creation of IFDE International Foundation for Dental Education . The mission of this educational site is to encourage experts in dentistry to contribute and participate to the educational process of dentists or dental students of less fortunate countries experiencing difficulties. Training better teachers will make better practitioners for the benefit of all.
Creation of IFDE
He founded IFDE in 2010 to interest dental faculty members in quality Continuing Education in Dentistry
IFDE will be based on simple to implement multimedia developments to create a "blended learning" community and open the walls of recognized universities to dentists not having the opportunity to attend these great institutions.

One of the way, Dr Retrouvey is able to get in touch with developing countries is through his implication as a volunteer teacher for Health Volunteer Overseas
Volunteering also start at home and Dr retrouvey is actively involved as a staff orthodontist in the Osteogenesis Imperfecta clinic, directed by Dr Stéphane Schwartz, at the Montreal Children Hospital Pediatric Dentistry Department .
